I am a pirate, and as such, I am cheating. I haven't made this recipe yet, but it looks simple and wonderful, and should be grand. This is step one in my Day of the Dead dish. The second part I will not write up until after I have made it, because it is the part I am nervous about. But for now, a nice, sweet corn bread recipe, that I will probably modify, but I'll report back on it.
Ingredients: 1 cup flour 1 cup cornmeal 1/2 cup honey 2 Tbsp. baking powder 1 cup cream (half and half, I suspect) 1/4 cup butter 2 eggs (I think I will add an extra egg and corn nibblets to it) Combine all ingredients in a bowl, and blend thoroughly. Let sit a few minutes, before placing in a greased baking dish of appropriate size. Probably will need to add a little more flour or cornmeal to make it the right consistancy, which should be around muffin batter. Bake at 400 degree for 20 to 25 minutes
