Town Hall - Random Facts

i recently came into the possession of World of Warcraft and i just adore this game. I understand that most people see it as a way to avoid society but i see it as a way to develop skills. You learn how to interact politely with others on the WoW regions because when you're rude and mean, that means you pretty much ruin any chance of ever joining a group or guild because you never know whose friend's you were rude too. also, you learn how to be patient, because it takes FOREVER sometimes to level your character....ok but i was wondering: in this day an age where it seems that the youth are being more and more isolated, is it such a bad thing that they make a few friends online? if they help them deal with issues in a way that real world people cant, then i say let them. i know that if it wasnt for the friends i made on a pagan chat site, i might never have overcome half the shit i did because of mummy, molly, ian and others.....

but for your enjoyment: HILTER GETS BANNED FROM WARCRAFT!!!! aw, a hunter can only hope to achieve his levels

Last year, i came across a video from a Wiccan singer named Celia, who wrote a song called "Symbol" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyoPfkUa5s8) in which she describes the heartbreaking take about an Afghanistan War hero, Sgt. Patrick Stewart , who died in 2005, was denied his religious right to have the Pentagram placed on his when his wife, Roberta Stewart, asked for it and the VA told them it was not allowed.

She then took it to the courts and as of April 24, 2007, The Pentagram is now an "approved" (i scoff at this) symbol that can be placed on Veteran soldiers of the Wiccan faith (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYkkLEv_IVo)

I just want to know, how is it that Mrs. Stewart had to fight for two years to gain her religious right and her late husbands? it just doesn't seem right to me....

Welcome!  This is the area where we get to fill you in on who makes this site run and be successful(including you, of course!).  The site is split up into areas of a "town", more or less.  Each larger section has several smaller categories within it that allow users to post information, articles, ideas, etc about the section.  Each section or category either has a managing editor or needs one.  This doesn't mean that those editors are tied to their sections; rather, they watch over it.  Sort of like a god over a little temple or altar. Our managing editors post at least once a week, don't infringe on copyrights, and they love their jobs (lol).

As it stands, we do need lots of managing editors.  How do you get to be a managing editor?  Well, first, you register for the site.  And then you participate via the points system.   When you reach 75 points - the number that allows you to begin submitting content to the site - submit 2 or 3 articles to any section you want.  Then, go ahead and post on the forums under "Job Applications" - following the instructions there.  No section is reserved for one managing editor - that would just be mean.  So even if there's someone listed on this page, chances are, you can still 'get' the section you want.  You can also remain an author - publishing under any section you choose to.

So, as of right now - launch - who exactly are our main contributors?  If a section has no one helping it out(it's red, on the list below) and has no articles contained within, it is currently not available on the site.  This is to prevent lots of empty space.  If you're interested in one of the closed sections, or even starting a new one, post on the Job Applications board or the Site Suggestions and Help board.

We're also accepting authors.  There are automatic invitations to become authors when a user reachers 75 points.  However, applying on the Job Applications board is a great way to get the opportunity, too.  An author has to post at least once every 30 days to maintain author status.
